I, the Lord that created you, I formed you: Fear not, I have redeemed you, I have called you by your name, and you are Mine

As a woman, I love getting new things! But nothing pleases me more than to receive a gift from my Heavenly Father. There is a verse in the Word of God that gives me such excitement and profound hope that the Lord will do something new in me. It should give you that same excitement. In Isaiah 43:19 KJV, it tells us, “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”

When something “springs forth”, that means “to suddenly appear or emerge, or to move forward quickly and suddenly”. I read that verse over and over, but then I wanted to go back to the beginning of the Chapter and read the verses leading up to verse 19. There was so much more God did for Jacob in these verses. I wanted to see the full context. As you read these verses, insert your own name in this passage and listen to what the Lord wants to do for you (paraphrased).

I, the Lord that created you, I formed you: Fear not, I have redeemed you, I have called you by your name, and you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you; when you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, and the fire will not come upon you. I gave a ransom for you. You are precious in My sight. You have been honorable, and I love you. Fear not, I am with you. I have created you for My glory. You will heal the afflicted and you will go to the nations to declare this. You are my chosen servant that you will know and believe Me. There is no God before Me or after Me. There is no other Savior. I Am the Holy One of Israel. I will bring down your enemies. I will make a way in the sea, a path in the oceans and they will not rise. Behold I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; can’t you see it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert to give drink to My people, My chosen.”

How powerful! Those are amazing promises for you and me! There’s so much more here the Lord wants to do than just something “new”. Fully surrendered, it would be a whole new life for you. He truly wants to do something new in you. He wants to give you a new revelation and new direction, but He won’t stop there. He is not only going to do a new thing, but God will also give you the provision you need to do it with excellence. You do your best and the Lord will do the rest. We serve a God of excellence. He will hold you accountable for what He places in your hands to do. God always prepares those He has called and already knows you will succeed when you keep a heart that is pure and humble. He will never set you up for failure.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah‬ 29:11‬ (KJV‬)‬‬‬. God has an expected end for your life that is simply amazing, but only if you place your full trust in Him.

You may be sitting in the middle of a storm thinking it will never get better. You may be wondering, “What can God use me for?” Friend, the Lord desires to use you to build up His Kingdom more than you want to be used! Storms will come but they are only here for a season. God will use it to your good (Romans 8:28). No matter what trouble you may be facing today, tomorrow is a new day. When devastation hits your home, tomorrow is proof there is hope that it will not last forever. When heartache comes to your heart, tomorrow shows us the Lord has more for you. Those verses in Isaiah tell you what He will do to help you.

The Lord is asking you today to “let go of the past”, because He has so much more for you. Something new. Something beautiful. Something better than what you could ever imagine or dream of. Let me add right here that anything you have done wrong in the past will not discount you from being called by God. In fact, He specializes in using those who have made the worst mistakes. He saves them, redeems them, calls them, and equips them! God knows you best and He will pave the way if you surrender your life and plans to Him. He will direct your path to help you reach the expected end He has prepared for you.

Do not stay in the heartache of the past, for it will only delay the beautiful life the Lord has waiting for you. Choose His blessings today for an abundant life so you can reach the amazing destination He has chosen for you.

The Lord can change circumstances in the blink of an eye. Remember, He is the God of “suddenly”. Expectation is the breeding ground for miracles. So, expect and look for what God wants to do “new” in you, in your life and your circumstances. There comes a moment…

on the other side of your forgiveness,

on the other side of your obedience,

on the other side of your praise,

on the other side of your song,

on the other side of your worship,

on the other side of you seeking Him with your whole heart that the Lord gives way to fulfilling His Word spoken over you. He chooses the day, the hour, and the moment, and nothing or no one can stop it. You just have to remain faithful. The Word of God tells us that He is the God of the impossible! He is the God that makes all things new, and I know He will perform a miracle in you!

Are you willing to seek Him on a deeper level? Are you ready to pursue Him the way He has pursued you your whole life? Are you preparing yourself to be used by the Lord? Truly examine your heart and make sure it is pure, holy, and righteous. There might be something inside your heart you know needs some work. It is up to you to sanctify that and lay it down on the altar. God cannot use a vessel that is unclean or unsubmitted. He must have a submitted soul. I encourage you to read Psalm 51 out loud over yourself as a prayer of repentance and then submerge yourself into the Word of God to fill yourself up with more of Him. Go into your Secret Place and present yourself to God as a clean vessel so He may use you mightily for His Kingdom.

There is much to do for the Lord, and He truly wants to do a new thing in your life so you can bless and encourage others along your journey. Your story matters, and when you share it with others, it will offer them the same hope that was given to you… eternal life with Jesus Christ!
